Beach Equity is a SME buyout and growth investment specialist. Our direct model provides you with the access, flexibility and opportunity to build your own custom-made portfolio of institutional-quality private equity investments. We utilise our experience, spanning the nexus of operator and investor, to achieve a deeper level of understanding both during due diligence but also whilst working with our portfolio companies during the investment phase. Investment strategy

We have a strong conviction in our investment thesis which provides diversification through exposure across sectors and investor returns through a focus on:

  • Unfair advantages – which can underwrite successful outcomes, for example, strategic partnerships which secure competitive advantage or growth
  • High floors and high ceilings – investments exhibiting the asymmetry of stronger outcomes in the event of downside scenarios while retaining the potential for greater value on the upside
  • Understanding our ability to influence the value of the outcome on the way in – what is working, how can we make it work better, where can we bring insight and value

These qualities are used to filter a high-quality pipeline which flows from our wide-ranging network of contacts. This includes successful teams we have worked with in the past, other successful entrepreneurs and operators, non-executive directors, trade bodies and advisers.

    Our due diligence process is akin to a full private equity due diligence process, drawing on a deeper operational understanding of what the business is and what it can become.

    We actively engage with our investor network to unlock unique insight for each transaction, providing an added layer to our own due diligence. The final stage of diligence consists of external reports to verify our findings.

    Our operational understanding also allows us to build a greater depth of trust with management teams. This allows us to wield greater influence over decision making and genuinely add value during the investment period. 

    We use transaction terms focused on adding protection for investors along the journey and at exit. Where we can, we return capital to investors during the holding period.

    We can show strong experience of maximising exit values. We do not just leave the exit in the hands of external advisers. We prepare for it from day one and guide our portfolio companies through the process.
